About Pain Management
Chronic pain is a frustrating and debilitating issue for patients that can affect overall quality of life. Not only does pain have an impact on physical functionality, but it can also have emotional implications as well. Pain often has more than one cause, making it a complex condition requiring the expertise of a pain management specialist.
Meadville Medical Center’s pain management services treats patients at offices in Meadville and in Hermitage. During your initial visit, you will receive an evaluation that will include discussions about past medical history, pain history, and prior treatments. Previous diagnostic studies will also be reviewed and a physical assessment will be completed. Treatment options will be reviewed and discussed using a multi-disciplinary plan of treatment, and you will be given follow up appointments and instructions to carry out the plan of treatment.
Referrals and Registration
A physician referral is required for Meadville Medical Center’s pain management services. If you have not been contacted by telephone prior to your office visit, you will need to to provide your insurance information at your first visit. Most insurances cover treatment, but it is recommended that you check with your insurance carrier to see what your plan covers.
