Legionella pneumophilia Antigen, Urine

Useful For: Legionella urinary antigen is useful in conjunction with other laboratory tests in the diagnosis of Legionnaire’s Disease. Legionella urinary antigen may be identified for months after recovery.

Methodology: Immunoassay (IA)

Specimen Requirements:
2 mL from a random, clean catch urine collection (minimum: 0.5 mL of urine) in a sterile urine sample cup supplied by Meadville Medical Center Laboratory. Refrigerate specimen after collection.

NOTE: No preservative needed.

Analytical Time: 1 day

Days Set Up: Monday through Sunday
