Quinidine, Serum

Useful For: Quinidine – Quinidine is used in the treatment of acute and chronic supraventricular arrhythmias and ectopic rhythm disturbances. Quinidine clearance can be altered by changes in plasma proteins and in renal and/or hepatic dysfunction. Both quinidine and the related isomer quinine possess antimalarial schizonticide activity. Quinidine levels are monitored to assure adequate therapeutic levels are achieved and to avoid toxicity.
