Protein Electrophoresis, Serum

Additional Info: Test includes total protein, albumin, alpha 1, alpha 2, beta, gamma, and pathology interpretation

Methodology: Colorimetric and Electrophoresis

Specimen Requirements:
1 yellow-top SST tube (minimum: 1.0 mL of serum), preferred to be drawn following an overnight (8-10 hour) fast. Centrifuge SST 30 minutes after draw. Refrigerate specimen after collection.

NOTE: Hemolysis, lipemia, and evaporation may cause inaccurate results.
