Pancreatic Polypeptide, Plasma

Useful For: Pancreatic polypeptide tests are used in the assessment of pancreatic tumor burden and to assist in the early diagnosis of pancreatic tumors. The measurement of pancreatic polypeptide concentrations are also used to monitor pancreatic carcinoma therapy and to predict the recurrence of pancreatic tumors.

Methodology: Electrochemiluminescence (ECLIA)

Specimen Requirements:
1 lavender-top (EDTA) tube (minimum: 0.3 mL of EDTA plasma) drawn following an overnight (8-10 hour) fast. Centrifuge lavender-top 30 minutes after draw. Separate plasma and send specimen frozen in plastic vial.

Analytical Time: 6 days

Days Set Up: once a week
