Meadville Medical Center (MMC) today announced plans to relocate Mill Run Pharmacy, 404 North Street, to the former Rite-Aid location in Meadville.

Acquired in March 2021 by MMC, Mill Run Pharmacy serves residents and healthcare offices across northeast Pennsylvania, offering free deliveries to households within 20 miles of the pharmacy.  Since joining MMC, and as a result of many pharmacy closures in the area, Mill Run Pharmacy has substantially increased customers, volumes, delivery services, and staff.

MMC had previously planned to expand Mill Run Pharmacy to accommodate the growth and offer additional services. Mill Run Pharmacy filled an average of 9,000 prescriptions per month prior to MMC purchasing. Mill Run Pharmacy now has expanded to over 12,000 prescriptions per month.

“Our plan was to renovate and expand Mill Run Pharmacy however, when Rite-Aid became available, we realized there could be significant savings by relocating to the new and much larger location,” stated René Suntay, MMC’s Chief Financial Officer.

“We were eager to begin renovations in 2027, but to relocate to a larger space that is centrally located in Meadville near public transportation is very exciting! The new location will significantly benefit our community,” stated Chelsey Walker, MMC Pharmacy Director.

MMC signed a sales agreement after the conclusion of the online auction and will finalize the purchase within the next 30 days.  Renovations are scheduled to begin quickly thereafter, which will include a second drive-thru window to accommodate more customers.
