Meadville Area Free Clinic

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Meadville Area Free Clinic. Even though it has been in operation for quite a few years, many community members may not know about its existence.

The clinic treats about 500 patients per year. The number would probably be much higher if everyone in the community realized it is for those without health insurance.

The clinic provides primary health care services to those individuals ages 18 to 65 who do not have health insurance, Medical Assistance, Medicare or VA benefits.

For those with chronic health problems such as asthma, high blood pressure or diabetes, they can receive care and monitoring at the Meadville Area Free Clinic.

Professional staff is either licensed or certified in their field and all services are provided strictly on a volunteer basis, including a volunteer staff.

If a medical condition exists that cannot be handled by the clinician, referrals are made to specialists.

Financial support is from individual and corporate support, the United Way of Western Crawford County and Crawford Gives contributions.

Depending on a patient's income level, some pharmaceuticals are provided for free.

As part of the 25th celebration, join us in spreading the word about the Meadville Area Free Clinic and the services they provide. Anyone wanting to contribute to the Meadville Area Free Clinic may call Diane Craven at (814) 333-3932 or Annette Gulick at (814) 333-5441.
