Meadville, PA – An employee at Meadville Pain Management, a practice
of Meadville Medical Center (MMC), tested positive for COVID-19 on July
12, 2020. Out of an abundance of caution the clinic was immediately closed
and will remain closed until July 27, during which time the facility will
undergo a thorough disinfection.
All employees at the clinic have been notified to monitor symptoms for
14 days, and MMC’s infectious disease staff are conducting a thorough
contact tracing to identify anyone else who may have possibly been exposed.
The employee first began showing symptoms on July 11 so all patients who
were in the clinic on July 9th and 10th are being notified.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, individuals can transfer
the virus 48 hours prior to showing symptoms. Due to preventative measures
in the clinic, like wearing masks and practicing hand hygiene, patients
who were in the clinic will have had minimal risk of exposure.
Individuals with questions related to this potential exposure are encouraged
to contact MMC’s infection disease department at 814-373-2195.
Individuals with questions or in need of prescription refills can call
Meadville Pain Management at 814-337-5894.
