Meadville, PA - Meadville Medical Center (MMC) announced today that a temporary
mobile medical unit will be located at the former Conneaut Valley Health
Center (CVHC) location to provide medical and dental services beginning
Wednesday, May 9, 2018.
In response to the February 27, 2018 fire that destroyed CVHC, hospital
officials immediately relocated services throughout the network of rural
health clinics within the MMC health system, and began the process of
planning to bring services back to Conneautville.
Shannon O'Brien, certified Physician Assistant, will be staffing the
unit on a part-time basis, under the medical supervision of Dr. Drew Lynne.
O'Brien worked at CVHC before the fire and knows many of the patients.
Patients can continue to call 814-373-2276 for medical appointments at
either the Conneautville or Meadville locations, and call 814-373-2284
for dental appointments. Availability will vary so individuals should
call in advance to schedule an appointment.
"The mobile medical unit is not a permanent solution, however, it
enables individuals living within the Conneautville community to continue
receiving the services they need in a convenient location as the development
process continues for rebuilding," said Michael Downing, Chief Executive
Officer, Community Health Services (CHS). CHS is a subsidiary of MMC that
operates rural health services across Crawford County.
