Conneaut Valley Health Center Fire Update #2

Meadville Medical Center
Meadville, PA. - Meadville Medical Center is committed to serving individuals
in the Conneautville area while supporting displaced employees from Conneaut
Valley Health Center (CVHC) and Valley Dental Center (VDC). Arrangements
are in place to serve patients at one of MMC's other three rural health
centers in Cambridge Springs, Conneaut Lake and Meadville. Employees are
being relocated to other facilities for the time being.
Questions about medical care:
contact the Meadville Community Health Center at 814-373-2976.
Questions about dental care:
contact the Meadville Dental Center at 814-373-5200.
CVHC along with VDC, both located in the same facility, were entirely
destroyed during the fire along with most of the contents. The vast majority
of medical records at CVHC had already been converted into electronic
medical records and are therefore secure and available for immediate access.
Unfortunately, all dental records at VDC were still paper and have been
lost in the fire.
"While we understand the significant impact this will have on the
greater Conneautville community, we are happy no one was injured during
this fire. The long-term plan for getting services back in Conneautville
will take some time, however we are committed to the area and keeping
services local. I'd also like to extend a special thank you to the
many firefighters who responded and Ruth's Diner for supporting their
efforts," said Mike Downing, Chief Executive Officer, Community Health Services.
Community Health Services is a subsidiary organization of Meadville Medical
Center that operates four rural health clinics in Crawford County. Since
the 1960's, 906 Washington Street in Conneautville has been the location
of the Conneaut Valley Health Center servicing thousands of patients each year.
Updates will be provided on the long-term plan as they are developed during
the coming days.
