MMC MMC

Section Description
MMC was awarded full accreditation for a three-year term by Det Norske Veritas Healthcare, Inc. Det Norske Veritas (DNV), which is headquartered in Oslo, Norway, is now a fourth choice for US hospitals seeking to demonstrate that they meet the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Conditions of Participation (CoP). MMC is the first and only hospital in Pennsylvania to receive certification from DNV. Hospitals can also opt for an accreditation survey from The Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO) or the American Osteopathic Association, or undergo a CMS survey carried out by their state’s Department of Health. MMC also holds current accreditation by The Joint Commission so we are the first hospital to hold double certification by these institutions. We are the first hospital in Pennsylvania certified in ISO 9001, as well. ISO 9001 is a family of standards for quality management systems. ISO 9001 is recognized by businesses around the world as the benchmark for continual quality improvement. Innovative hospitals have started embracing ISO as a way to identify and focus on the most successful approaches to patient care, billing and other critical aspects of running a modern hospital.
