2001 Annual Fund Campaign
Select Topic:
What a terrific year for the 2001 Annual Fund Campaign! Gifts and pledges from 602 donors totaled $196,511. Our goal was $150,000.

Gift funds purchased 14 inpatient beds for Meadville Medical Center's Oncology Department. These beds are the most comfortable beds available and provide maximum pain relief for cancer patients.

The Total Care bed automatically moves a patient from a lying position to an upright, sitting position with no effort on the patient's behalf. This is an enormous benefit to patients and enables them to keep moving during medical care.

For Community Health Services (CHS), gift funds purchased a portable jaundice meter for newborns. This meter will reduce the number of blood samples taken from an infant by visiting nurses and will significantly reduce infant discomfort.

(Picture left - Kenneth L. Montag, General Chairman 2001 Annual Fund Campaign) One of the keys to the success of the 2001 Annual Fund Campaign was the commitment of time, effort and leadership of 125 volunteer solicitors, captains and division chairpersons. Without their help, we would not be successful. In addition to the General Chairperson, Kenneth Montag, our division chairpersons were Stella Deater, Julie Hovis, Barbara MacBeth, Leslie Work, Catherine Foster, Dr. Abe Finton, Clark Hoffman, Dr. Anne Rassiga, David McMillin, Richard McDermot, Ph.D., Mark Strausbaugh and Robert Dornhaffer, Esq. This leadership team was outstanding and their commitment to help local health care was unsurpassed. They were immensely successful. We sincerely appreciate and thank our volunteers for their wonderful commitment of time, effort and leadership.

On behalf of everyone involved with the Campaign, we extend our sincere thanks to our donors. You have helped to improve the high quality of care provided to patients of our medical center.
