About the Cardiac Care Center staff
Board certified cardiologists and board certified internists work closely with family physicians and cardiac care staff to diagnose and treat patients. A physician is present during all Stress Testing and Transesophageal Echocardiograms. Specially trained physicians interpret all electrocardiograms. The office of the Cardiac Care Medical Director is located within the cardiac care department.
Specially trained cardiac registered nurses, cardiovascular technicians, ECG technicians and customer service representatives staff the Cardiac Care Center during business hours. A Cardiologist, Registered Nurses and Cardiovascular Technicians are on call for cardiac emergencies should they arise after business hours.
The Procedures Done in the Cardiac Care Center
The physician who ordered your cardiac procedure should provide you with all the specific appointment and preparation guidelines. If special preparation is needed, you will be contacted by one of our cardiac nurses the day before your test. The latest nuclear stress tests, echocardiography, interventional cardiology, and other diagnostic services are available in the Cardiac Care Center. The Cardiac Care Center is also pleased to announce the recent addition of a Cardiac CT Scanner. During a CT scan, which is a painless test that produces clear pictures of the heart, an x-ray machine moves around the patient and takes pictures of every part of the patient's heart.

You will find us on the ground floor of Meadville Medical Center - Liberty Street Facility at 751 Liberty Street, Meadville, PA, 16335.
Enter Meadville Medical Center from the Randolph Street Parking Area through the Main Entrance. Proceed to the main elevators - marked Elevators A & B - to the ground floor level. When you exit the elevators on the ground floor, you will be facing the Cardiac Care Center, as it is located directly across the hall from the elevators.
Should you have any questions or concerns about finding the Cardiac Care Center quickly and easily, the Information Desk located in the main entrance is staffed with friendly, helpful employees and volunteers who will be happy to assist you in finding your destination.
All cardiac services are centralized and are close to the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit should the need arise.
How do I register for a procedure?
In most instances, when your physician orders your cardiac procedure, the physician office will contact the cardiac care center to schedule your specific appointment date and time. Your physician will provide you with this information.
The Cardiac Care Center will notify registration with your appointment date and time. Routinely, pre-registration staff will contact you the day before your procedure to verify registration information and confirm appointment dates and times. On occasion, registration does not have adequate or appropriate information to complete pre-registration. In this case, you would be instructed to report to registration when you arrive for your procedure.
Will my insurance cover my procedure?
Your physician's office will verify and inform you of your specific insurance coverage when your cardiac procedure is ordered. It is the responsibility of the ordering physician to obtain any preauthorization for procedures from your insurance company prior to the scheduled test. Should the Cardiac Care Center have any concerns about your insurance coverage our customer service staff will contact you or the ordering physician prior to the scheduled appointment time.
