VISITOR INFORMATION

Meadville Medical Center
751 Liberty Street
Meadville, PA  16335
814-333-5000

We welcome visitors and know that they mean so much to our patients, but the patient's welfare is our first concern. Because so many things have to be done to provide the proper care and treatment for our patients, we have established visiting hours which will minimize conflicts with the patient's program of care and rest.

For the comfort and safety of both our patients and visitors we ask that the following guidelines be observed:

  • Meadville Medical Center is a tobacco-free institution. No smoking will be permitted.
  • Visitors should be quiet and respectful of the privacy of the people they are visiting, as well as other nearby patients.
  • Food and refreshments may not be given to a patient without consent of the attending physician, nurse or personnel on the unit.
  • Visitors should leave the room promptly when treatment is to be given.
  • Visitors should not sit on the patient's bed.
  • Any visitor causing a disturbance or being disruptive will be asked to leave.
  • Children should be closely supervised at all times.

Visiting Hours
MMC enbraces a philosophy of open and flexible visitation that welcomes and encourages the involvement of family/significant others in the patient's care. MMC strives to provide a caring environment while recognizing the importance of visitation to our patients, their families and friends. Visitors are encouraged to visit during the hours of 11:00 AM and 8:00 PM; however special accommodations can be made to meet the needs of our patients. Inappropriate behavior or refusal to follow MMC policy and rules can compromise patient health and safety, and may result in visitors being asked to leave the premises.

When visitation occurs outside of the recommended hours, visitors must register with the Front Desk Security and obtain a special self-expiring visitor pass that must be visible on them at all times.

Individual departments may have specific recommendations regarding visiting hours and can apply reasonable clinical restrictions and other limitations on patient visitation. Please see below for individual department recommendations.
